Welcome to the Team Captain's page for Pissed & Passed Stones of Tucson, TEXAS EDITION. (PPST for short) HA! I have suffered from kidney stones since 1998 and was officially diagnosed with PKD in February 2015. I have a detailed, personal note that I can share with you individually if you'd like to know more about my situation.
Polycystic kidney disease — one of the most common, life-threatening genetic diseases — strikes both adults and children. It often leads to the need for dialysis and a kidney transplant. It affects thousands in America and millions worldwide, who are in urgent need of treatments and a cure.
At this time, there are no treatments or a cure.
The Walk for PKD is the PKD Foundation's largest annual fundraising event. Funds raised from Walks across the country make up one third of our annual budget. The more money our walkers raise, the more we can do in the fight to end PKD! You can help by joining the Walk as a participant, volunteer or donor.
The North TX PKD Walk will be held in Southlake on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017. I will be returning to Texas for the weekend and could not pass up the opportunity to attend two walks back-to-back. :) I would love for you to join me! If you are unable to make the walk, a monetary donation is still greatly appreciated as 100% of the Walk's proceeds go to research in the hopes of finding treatments or a cure.
Together, we can walk boldly toward a future where no one suffers the full effects of PKD.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. ~ Jody
