Detroit Walk for PKD

Team Lucy D

Lucy continues to bring so much joy to our lives each and everyday.  We have gone through a lot over this past year but she grows stronger, more beautiful, and more stubborn with each passing day.

We have been lucky that Lucy continues to maintain a mild form of ARPKD to this point but still requires daily blood pressure medicine (like her grandpa's) and takes straight iron supplements like a champ!  Claire continues to help us in everyway possible and we wouldn't be surpised if she goes into the medical field in the future.

Our family is so thankful for the continued support that everyone has shown us.  We were very proud of the support we received last year at the PKD walk even though it was our first time at the event.  It is our goal to raise even more money and awareness over last year.  The older Lucy gets, the more opportunities we have to participate in various research projects to help cure and find solutions to ARPKD.

We hope that everyone is able to join us for the walk this year in Troy on September 9.  Thank you again for all of the love and support and continue to keep Lucy and all of our ARPKD warriors in your thoughts and prayers.

TEAM LUCY D

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is one of the most common, life-threatening genetic diseases affecting thousands in America and millions worldwide. There is no treatment or cure. You can help bring a treatment within reach.

The Walk for PKD is the PKD Foundation's largest annual fundraising event. Funds raised from Walks across the country make up one third of our annual budget.

The more money our walkers raise, the more we can do in the fight to end PKD!

You can help by joining the Walk as a participant, volunteer or donor.

Together, we can walk boldly toward a future where no one suffers the full effects of PKD.
